I. Introduction to Administrative Ministry
Today’s office of church administrator was born in the New Testament and arose from a need to solve the murmurings of the Early Church members. Even though the apostles were preaching, disciples were multiply and the church was growing, human needs were being neglected (Acts6). The reason: too few were sharing administrative load.
Church administration is ministry, not methods. It’s people, not paperwork. It is human processes, not inhumane policies. It’s management, not manipulation. Administration and management refer to an organization’s “people processes” and help institutions use their resources well. In the church and other Christian organizations, administration is growing people, not simply doing things. Administration is vital if a church is to reach its mission.
Administrative Department of Church of Singapore (Bukit Timah) is comprised of three operating units: Administrative Support, Accounts and Finance and Building Services. The church administrator leads for all three units.

 III. Computerising/ Electronic Processing
The use of the computer is one place the administrator can look for new ways to help the church be more effective.
We have implemented the following on-line systems to replace the resource-draining, to save staff time in data entry and allow church members access to their own information. After implementation, we are not only doing more with less, but do it better.
1. On-line booking of church vans 2. On-line church membership renewal cum cell group information system 3. On-line application for advance payment 4. On-line booking of church facilities
Our aims are to use technology and computerized systems to provide superior service to the church members, church leaders and the full-time staff, while optimizing resources. We live and work in a performance-driven culture. Everything is defined by how well it performs. We are left to accomplish our goals by working with individuals, who in turn are affected by the ways in which they interact with each other. Christ has given us the ultimate example for human conduct that transcends all else. May we use the good sense to seek His wisdom and love in our relationships with others, and in our joining together to help carry forward His ministry.
